Dallas Lee  Ihnken
Dallas Lee Ihnken of Atlantic, Iowa age 69, passed away Tuesday evening March 9, 2004, at the Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.Dallas Lee Ihnken and was born in Wiota, Iowa on August 2, 1934, the son of John Frederick, senior. And Doshia Lucinda (Burtcheard) Ihnken. The family resided in Wiota and Dallas attended Wiota schools. He entered and was discharged from the U.S. Navy in November 1957. Dallas was United in marriage to Marilyn Ruth Cartensen of Atlantic on June 20 6, 1960 and he resided in Atlantic older married life. One daughter, Leann Marie, was born on March 21, 1966. Dallas was employed by the Iowa Department of Transportation for 27 years, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed fishing, especially the times he spent fishing with his grandsons. He also enjoyed dancing and hunting. Dallas was a member of the first United Methodist Church in Atlantic and the American Legion.He is survived by his wife Marilyn; daughter Leann and husband Carl Jacobsen of Atlantic, grandsons, Daniel Michael, Derick Lee and Devon Carl; rather Kenneth and wife Lois of Atlantic; sisters, Inez and husband Max Ward of Colo, IA. And Helen Rossell of Atlantic; brother-in-law Jack Carstensen and wife Karen of Oakland, Nebraska; nephews, nieces, cousins and many special friends.Dallas was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Frederick, Jr. and Lawrence.Funeral Information
