Helen Lucille Figgins, age 81, passed away Wednesday evening, February 16, 2005 at her residence at The Heritage House in Atlantic.Helen was born November 14, 1924 to Martin N. and Anna C. (Pieken) Janss in Atlantic, Iowa. She attended the Atlantic schools and graduated from Atlantic High School. On September 29, 1950, Helen was united in marriage to Darrell M. Figgins in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1977. She had a former marriage to Myron Ray of Atlantic.Helen was a Mastercard Supervisor with the First National Bank of Omaha. She retired on February 15, 1989 after being employed with the bank for sixteen years. After retirement, Helen moved from her home in Council Bluffs to Atlantic where she enjoyed many years with life long friends, neighbors and relatives. Helen was a member of the United Church of Christ in Atlantic. During her life she enjoyed golf, dancing, cards, crafts and social events.She is survived by the families of niece Alice (Janss) Bequeaith of Davenport, IA; nephews, Steven Janss and wife Shari and Stanley and wife Jeanne of Neosho, MO and Kenneth Figgins and wife Vickie of Omaha, NE; niece Sandra Brown of Canton, Ohio and sister-in-law Marieum Figgins of Omaha, NE. . She was loved, respected and will be dearly missed.
