Ethel Lois Gaylord, age 84, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center in Atlantic. Lois was born in Davenport, Iowa on July 3, 1925 to Walter William Weicker and Alice Lela (Cornwell) Weicker. She was united in marriage to Jack Byron Gaylord on December 17, 1955 in Atlantic and lived most of her life here. She is survived by her daughter, Kellie Sorensen of Atlantic: granddaughters, Kimberly Meurer and husband Mike, Jennifer Sorensen and Sam Huffman and Angela Sorensen and Nathan Marr all of Atlantic; great grandchildren, Bethaney Meurer, Alex Meurer, Curtis Meurer, Mariah Huffman and Hailey Huffman; brothers, Walter Weicker of Davenport, Iowa and Ralph Simpson of St. Louis, Missouri; several nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Jack and her parents; brothers and sisters.Funeral Information Services for Lois will be held at the Roland Funeral Home at 1:30 on Wednesday, December 2, with interment in the Atlantic Cemetery.
