I have many childhood memories of Aunt Joan on the family farm. Topping them in this moment are harvesting potatoes from the garden, her joking manner and smile, and the morning we ate cereal with warm milk fresh from the cow. I recall her always wearing an apron, the crickets we found in the couch and how green the sky was during a hurricane scare during one visit. In her attic I found school papers from when my Mom (her sister-in-law) Evelyn was in school since her home had once been the Weirich family home. Teasing the pigs from upstairs in the barn, riding bareback through the corn fields across the road, and the parade we cousins were in together in Griswold, and the time we roasted a pig in a pit. My most recent memory of Aunt Joan was summer of 2017 in Wasilla Alaska when her granddaughter Dani was married. Since it had been over 40 years since I had seen her, she didn't know who I was, asking "and who are you?" Rest in peace Aunt Joan and say hi to Mom for me.

My condolences to Joan's family. Your mother was a kind woman and always spoke of her family with lobe. I will miss not seeing her at bingo and sharing her wonderful homemade banana bread.

Joan was one of my mother's best friends. They loved going to bingo and in their younger years going dancing. She will be dearly missed by all in my family.
