Kathryn Krause, age 96, of Anita passed away Friday, December 25, 2015.

Kathryn was born February 23, 1919, to Elizabeth and Martin Hansen. She grew up on a farm in the Brayton-Elk Horn area. Kathryn married Paul Krause on September 17, 1950. They farmed north of Anita for many years until Paul passed away in May of 1996. Kathryn enjoyed farm life, gardening and most of all spending time with family. During her later years, she enjoyed time with her great grandchildren. Kathryn was a longtime member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Anita.

Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Betty Wnuk (Thomas) of Ames; son, Calvin Krause (and friend, Kim Clemons) of Atlantic; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Arthur Hansen and Donald Hansen; and sisters, Mabel Bednar, Margaret Nelsen, Myrtle Linch, and Viola Winther.

Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, December 31st at Roland Funeral Service in Atlantic at 1:30 p.m. with a prayer service following at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Ted Weishaupt of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Anita officiating. Interment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, near Adair.

The family has suggested that memorial gifts be directed to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Anita.
