Clarence Melvin  Chamberlain
Clarence M. Chamberlain, 90, of Wiota, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at Atlantic Specialty Care.

Clarence Melvin was born on June 15, 1925, in Cass County, Iowa, the son of Walter W. and Zella (Ringer) Chamberlain. He attended country school in Grove City and graduated from Wiota High School in 1943. After graduation, he continued helping on the family farm and raised many head of Long Horned Herefords. Clarence was also caretaker for his mother during this time.

On August 15, 1982, he married Mary Ann Hamann at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anita. The couple resided at the Hamann home place, where he continued his love of farming and raising cattle. When he wasn't tending to his own farm he was a hired man for Morris Blake, Leo Herchenbach and Gail Burke. Never really retiring, Clarence was active on the farm well into his 80's.

He loved his animals especially his horses and "Charlie the dog." When Clarence watched television, he enjoyed Sierra Shut in Mass on Sunday mornings or catching a game of his favorite sports teams that included the St. Louis Cardinals, Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; son, Joshua (Amber) Chamberlain of Omaha, NE; daughter, Kathryn Chamberlain of Atlantic; grandchildren, Alexa Chamberlain and Kadyn Swanson; brother, Ralph (Annabelle) Chamberlain of Phoenix, AZ; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Zella Chamberlain; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Dorothy Chamberlain; parents-in-law, Gus and Lena Hamann; and brother-in-law, Don Hamann.

A prayer service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic with visitation with the family to follow until 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 6, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anita, with Father Chori Seraiah, Celebrant and Father Al Sherbo, Con-celebrant. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Anita.
