Sally, Sherry and Nancy
Its so hard to believe it has been a year since Jo Ann's passing. As I write this, I think of the great visits we had with your parents and Sally the fun and delicious Brunch they hosted afer your wedding in Iowa. Such wonderful memories!! They are on my prayer list today, January 19th, 2015 Our love to all your family. Mary Beth and John
I have such fond memories of Del and JoAnn Neary! I enjoyed babysitting for their daughters when I was in high school.
They were great teachers and great role models. May they rest in peace together!
Mrs. Neary was one of the best teachers I had in grade school. She reminded me a lot of my grandmother Mildred Arnold. I will never forget her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
Shari, Nancy and Sally; I was so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was so good to me when I would hang out with Shari all the time. I fondly remember her as one of my teachers who gave challenging and creative projects that stretched my thinking. I know she gave so much to so many. She certainly will be missed.
Jo Ann will be missed by many of us here in Atlantic. She was an excellent teacher and helped hundreds of local students as they progressed through the elementary grades.
She and Del were an inseparable couple, and one of my fondest memories is watching them walk down the aisle at our weekly church service-she would hold his arm, and he would pat her hand, almost as if it was a their wedding day! Now they are together again, and I feel certain it is just where they want to be.
What a dear friend! So many memories. . . The Neary's have always been like family. My daughter, Delaney is named after her grandfather Del Hinman, but I also had Del Neary in mind. We were all so pleased when she was born on his birthday! Jo Ann taught me so much about "raising readers" and our kids just loved her, too!
As I worked for your father for six years, I knew Jo Ann and his three girls as the light of his life. Being around Del, I thought, "What a remarkable woman Jo Ann must be." and meeting her confirmed that thought.
My sympathy to Nancy, Shari and Sally and their families.
