Condolences

Condolence From: Fr. Al Sherbo
Condolence: I was the priest that came over to anoint Florence the Saturday before she died. I am sorry I was not able to attend any of the services. It was great to be with her and to get to meet all of you. I was very impressed reading her obituary. She was part of the glory years of Wiota girls basketball. One of the sources of Hallie's talent? Florence had a few pictures of her in her room. I will be offering a Mass for Florence and all of you in the near future. My prayers are with all of you. God bless, Fr. Al Sherbo

Condolence: Duane, Paul, and Tom,
I just wanted to pass along my deepest sympathy for the loss of your Mother, my Aunt Florence. She was very special to my Mother and she always talked about her fondly and how tough and strong she was. I am glad that I got to see her at Dad's funeral and I told her then that she was one strong lady to have raised you 3 boys!! (I have 2 boys and that is enough) All of those Neiens women truly were STRONG AND TOUGH and worked hard their entire lives. They were also the best cooks of anyone I know. Mom always said your Mom was one of the best since she cooked so much more in Elk Horn for "big crowds". But, all of them and Grandma Neiens were great cooks (we just don't have women that cook from scratch anymore as I know I don't). I am sorry I am not able to be there in person as you were all so good about coming to both Mom and Dad's funerals and it was truly appreciated (Duane, even when you had just had surgery and were limping) I know that your Mom knew how loved she was by all of you and that she will be missed but at least those Neiens sisters (and brother Joe) are all up in Heaven together at last. I am sure they are cackling away as we speak :-) Florence was always great about remembering birthdays, and special occasions and I always had cards from her and I admired her strong Faith. She also babysat Mary K. and I a number of times when Mom and Dad went on trips together. Those Neiens girls were raised right by Grandma Neiens and were great caretakers for everyone.
Hugs to you all and my sympathies in your loss. Its never easy to lose a parent and a strange feeling when they are "both" gone. Her memory will live on
