Obituary for Marilyn Reynolds

Marilyn Lee Reynolds, 87, of Atlantic, Iowa, died Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Allen Place in Atlantic.

Marilyn was born on September 9, 1933, in Jewell, Iowa, the daughter of Hans and Cora (Helvig) Jensen. She graduated from Jewell High School in 1951.

On June 14, 1953, she was united in marriage to Duane Rexford Reynolds at the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell. Marilyn worked alongside her husband, Duane at Reynolds TV and Appliance, which they owned for 32 years. She also worked at Jaydon’s Distribution Center and Medicine Chest Pharmacy for many years.

Marilyn was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church and was a member of the Ladies Circle. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, camping, traveling, watching sports, baking, sewing and playing BINGO. Marilyn was always friendly and greeted you with her great smile. She volunteered many hours in her community with the Cass County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Jaycees’ in the 1960’s and would often take others to appointments.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Randy Reynolds of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Diana (Dale) Rozmiarek of LaVista, Nebraska, and Jeff (Diane) Reynolds of Waterloo, Nebraska; four grandchildren, Darin (Michelle) Foster, Jill (Brian) Hollis, Tyler (Jenny) Reynolds and Amanda Rozmiarek; five great- grandchildren, Kami, Kale and Kendall Foster, Mina Hollis, and Kason Reynolds; sister, Cathy Jensen of Ankeny, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Joann Reuterskiold and Marcy Rose of California, and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Cora Jensen; husband, Duane Reynolds; and grandson, Dustin Foster.

Open visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Roland Funeral Home. No visitation with the family is planned.

A private family funeral service will be held at Roland Funeral Home with Pastor Kyle McBee of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to family for later designation to causes within the Atlantic community.
