Obituary for Todd K. Matthews
Todd Kasey Matthews, 56, of Sioux City, Iowa, died at his home on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.
He was born on November 22, 1962, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the son of Donald Lee and Patty Joan (Rasmussen) Matthews. He grew up in Grinnell, Iowa, and graduated in the Class of 1981. In later years, he graduated from the University of Northern Iowa. Todd was currently working at Hy-Vee in Sioux City.
Todd was a loving son and father, great cook; specializing in comfort food, animal lover, and an avid Iowa Hawkeye Fan; Go Hawks!
Todd is survived by his son, Koy Matthews; daughter, Kasey (John) Bennett; grandchildren, Vyvyan and Clarke Bennett; parents, Don and Patty Matthews; siblings, Steven (Darla) Matthews and Jana (Payton) Byers; aunts, Mary Lou Johansen and Gloria (Paul) Melsha; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald “Bus” and Lorraine Matthews and Clarence and Ethel Rasmussen; aunt, Shirley Matthews; and uncle, Eugene Johnson.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 3rd at Todd’s parents’ home, 1705 Spencer Street in Grinnell, Iowa.
