Louise D.  Olsen
Louise Olsen, 85, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2001, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital.The daughter of Edgar and Theodosia (Bell) Downs, Louise was born March 6, 1916 in Clark County, Kentucky and grew up in Sac City, Iowa, graduating from Sac City High School in 1934. She was married to Howard R. Olsen on December 7, 1937 in Spencer, Iowa. They lived in Sac City until moving to Atlantic in February of 1942. Louise was a bookkeeper and teller at the First Whitney Bank and she worked at Heritage House for several years before retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Atlantic, active in Ladies Aid, Eastern Star and White Shrine in her earlier years.Surviving are three daughters, Judith A. Hild and husband Leonard of Louisville, Nebraska, Karen Curtis of Ames, Iowa and Beverly J. Harris and husband Bill of Amarillo, Texas; five grandchildren, Marcia Sutton and husband Kent of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, Gene Curtis and wife Ann of Madison, Wisconsin, Greg Curtis and wife Crystal of Johnston, Iowa, Geoffrey Harris and wife MaryLea of Fairfax, Virginia and Todd Harris of McLean, Virginia; three great-grandchildren, Derek and Dyland Sutton and Caitlin Curtis; one brother Ardell Downs and wife Eunice of Holstein, Iowa; one sister Maxine Mandernach of Sac City, Iowa; and a number of nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son-in-law Don Curtis and one grandson Steven Hild.Funeral InformationInterment will be Friday, December 21, 2001, at 10:00 A.M. in the Atlantic Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Atlantic with the Reverend Chuck Smith officiating.
