Obituary for John D. Oler

John Douglas "Doug&" Oler, age 58, of Rogers, Arkansas, died December 24, 2004. He was born on December 2, 1946, in Atlantic, Iowa, to John H. and Ruth (Dory) Oler. He attended schools in Atlantic and graduated from Atlantic High School in 1965. Doug was married to Joyce Gaye Means, in Atlantic, on July 17, 1969. The couple were blessed with two children, and Doug worked for Kawneer in Arkansas until he retired in 1998. He was a member of NWA Fellowship Church in Bentonville, Arkansas. His hobby and passion was his "29 Model A. Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of Rogers, Arkansas; one daughter, Sonja Fletcher and husband, Brad, of Rogers, AR; one son, Sean Oler, of Rogers, AR; his mother, Ruth Oler, of Atlantic, IA; one sister, Julie Mead and husband, Craig and family, of Omaha, NE; sister-in-laws, Janice (Means) Chase and husband, Gerald, Judie (Means) Carlson and husband, Dick, Jane (Means) Mathisen and husband, Terry; brother-in-laws, Jay Means and wife, Iva, and John Means and wife, Mary; 18 nieces and nephews; and 33 great-nieces and nephews. Doug is preceded in death by his dad and one sister, Rita Kay Oler. In lieu of flowers, donations should be given to the NWA Fellowship Church building fund at 3111 SE J.
