MAXINE LOUISE (GOOLD) OLSON Maxine Louise Olson, age 84, formerly of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the Elk Horn Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn, Iowa. Maxine was born September 19, 1923 to Chester and Artie (Miller) Goold in Atlantic where she grew up. Maxine graduated from the Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs in 1943. She was employed at the Blue Star Company in the egg department until her marriage on May 1, 1954 to Arnold Edward Olson. The couple settled in Atlantic where they were blessed with a daughter. The family will remember her as always a very kind person and loved by everyone. She enjoyed crafts such as making the button hang up towels and working puzzles; she raised dogs (would have two or three at a time - her favorite was Chihuahuas); and especially loved being together with the family. Maxine was a member of the Saint Paul"s Lutheran Church and a firm believer in the Lord. She was survived by one daughter Mina Morris and her husband Arnold of Atlantic; one granddaughter Jennifer Kleppinger and her husband Jason; one grandson David Wall of Atlantic; one great step-grandson Alan Kleppinger of Atlantic; two great granddaughters, Haliegh Wall of Audubon and Dakota Wall of Council Bluffs; two sisters-in-law, Rosell Petersen of Atlantic and Ruth Olson of Aurora, CO; and a nephew Harold Goold and his wife Alice of Atlantic, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Arnold; her brother Bud Goold and his wife Mae; and brothers-in-law, Lee Olsen and Gaylord Petersen.Funeral InformationServices for Maxine will be held Monday, February 11, 2008 at 1:30 PM at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic with Pastor Sally Meyer of St. Paul"s Lutheran Church officiating. A visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6:00 to 7:00. Interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery, Atlantic, Iowa.
