Obituary for Richard Wayne Lewis
Richard Wayne Lewis, 85, of Anita, Iowa, Iowa, died Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Allen Place in Atlantic.
He was born on March 10, 1936, in Elliott, Iowa, the son of Harold Joseph and Desda Ruth (Winterstein) Lewis. On November 23, 1956, he was united in marriage to Mary B. Yokom. The couple made Anita home in 1999.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Charlotte (Alan) Allgaier of Sandy, Utah; son, Randall (Melaine) Lewis of Anita, Iowa, eight grandchildren; Richard Harold Lewis, Jr., Chad Wilcox, Sam Green, Bobbi Jo Owens, Sadie Velasquez, Sierra Lewis-Gay, Shelby Rodenberg and Marissa Rodenberg; five great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; sisters, Barbara Mitchell, Ruth Larkin and Debbie Ellis; brother, David Larkin; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his and parents, Harold Lewis and Desda Larkin; wife Mary; son, Richard Harold Lewis; granddaughters, Tiffany Leann and Tina Louise Wilcox; and sisters, Phyllis Caldwell and Marilyn Clawson.
Per Richard’s wishes cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at a later date at the Hillside Cemetery in Elliott, Iowa.
The family requests memorials be given to the American Lung Association.
