Obituary for Rudy Moses
Rudy Moses, 21, of Atlantic, Iowa, formerly of Chuuk Island, Micronesia, died from injuries sustained in a bicycle accident on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.
Rudy Moses was born on July 1, 1997, in Chuuk State, Micronesia, the son of Koma Mualia and Pantora Muritok. He lived there until moving to Atlantic, Iowa, in September of 2017, to live with his Aunties and begin work. While here he missed his family, especially his little sister, Nengin, and continued to be in touch with them; often sending them thoughtful gifts. Rudy was outgoing and full of life. He was always up for having fun, even if he was playing a joke on you. His smile was contagious; you were always in a good mood if he was around. When help was needed, Rudy was ready and willing. He loved to dance; if music was playing he was moving to the beat. He was never far from his phone either, and took countless selfies. Rudy was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and in August had received First Communion. He rarely missed Sunday morning mass, and took the rest of the day to celebrate the Lord. During music at mass he was often seen hands folded, praying.
Rudy will be deeply missed by his parents, Koma and Pantora; sister, Nengin; brothers; aunties and their families; and many other extended family and friends.
Visitation with the family present will be from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Sunday, September 30th, at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 1, 2018, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic, with Father Chinna Devaraj as Celebrant. Following the service Rudy will be taken home and a burial will be held in the Chuuk Cemetery on Chuuk Island, Micronesia
