Condolence: Sid & family,

Barbara and I send you all of our sympathy, as we remember Darrell. Yes, it seems like only yesterday that Darrell and I went to the movies and skating, and playing in his Grandpa's big barn. We still remember visiting you and Darrell on the South Olive Street farm, in the early 60s. So, long ago. I remember the last time I visited you. You fixed us a very nice lunch, and Darrell and I talked and talked, while you went outside and mowed the farm yard. He mentioned how you loved doing that. Darrell and I talked about what we had done and what we were going to do, and I remember him saying, They will have to drag me off the farm.
Bless you and your family.

Condolence: I think that Darrell Knop never met a stranger. He was always friendly and very knowledgeable about farm conditions.

We were in a golf group with he and Sid and we took trips around Southwest Iowa with them which was always fun!

He will be missed!

Condolence: Even though expected, this is never easy and always comes as a surprise. Darrell Knop was the nicest, most gentle man I've ever met. He was also my favorite drinking buddy. I would seek him out and sit next to him just to hear his side comments - and to lay a few of mine on him, just to hear his chuckle. He laid the foundation for all the good that his sons are today. Knops suffered a big loss yesterday when the ballast gave way to the ever after...

Please reach out to Brad and Darren, stalwart guys (of course), but who are still very much sad that their father is no longer here to swat them upside the head when they deserve it :)
