Obituary for Wayne A. Logue
Wayne A. Logue, 91, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018, at Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn, Iowa, after a short battle with throat cancer.
Wayne Aubrey Logue was born on August 6, 1926, in Cumberland, Iowa, the son of Jesse Ferroll and Grace (Cozad) Logue. On June 17, 1942, he was united in marriage to Alice May Stormer in Omaha, Nebraska.
Wayne worked for Smiley Transfer and Storage, Walnut Grove and retired from W. R. Grace. He looked forward to spending time outdoors; fishing and RVing with family was what he enjoyed most.
Wayne will be deeply missed and left fond memories with his son, Dallas W. (Darlo) Logue of Atlantic; grandchildren, Darin W. (Kari) Logue, Daniel W. Logue, all of Rapid City, SD, and Debbie Harmsen of Jackson Center, OH; and great-grandchildren, Summer Logue and her son, Caiden, Kami Logue and Danica Logue, all of Rapid City, SD; his brothers, Louis (Rosemary) Logue of Texas; Jim (Carol) Logue of Atlantic; Dale (Amelia) Logue of California; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Grace Logue; wife, Alice Logue; daughter, Betty Eberspacher; sisters, Zelma Pangburn, Luella Smith, Gloria Logue, Uerlee Logue and Betty Alice Mudd; and brothers, Edwin Logue and Lloyd Logue.
Open visitation will be available on Friday, May 25th from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday, May 26, 2018, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Roland Funeral Home. Following visitation, a graveside service will be held at 2:15 p.m. at the Oakwood Cemetery in Lewis with Pastor Grant Van Lishout of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Atlantic officiating.
