One of the most intelligent men I have ever known, Dick loved to be challenged and to challenge others. He felt lucky to spend every workday doing what he loved - practicing Law. His dedication to the Iowa Hawkeyes, the protection of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights was unwavering. He took pride in his humble beginnings as a poor Lewis farm boy and never forgot where he came from.

As my mentor, boss, friend, and sometimes surrogate father, Dick has played a significant role in my world for over half my years. The impact shaped my life. As I do now, I will continue to seize every opportunity to insert one of his stories or quips (Dickisms) when a conversation warrants! He will be deeply missed, but his memory will be often visited.

Condolence: Dick was a Taylor family friend for years. The stories that can be told are treasured. Our family will miss him dearly.

Condolence: Dick was Margaret's boss for years and she always held him in high regard. I will miss the many long visits I had with Dick. He was a trusted friend who I could always count on for good advice.
