Such sad news. I remember Pam's great energy and interest in life. I also remember thinking that she was such an amazingly great partner for her husband and positive role model for her daughters. No doubt these coming days will be hard ones for you all and I will be praying that your many happy memories will bring you comfort. Folk singer Iris Dement wrote in a song about her mother's death: "There'll be laughter even after you're gone, There'll be reasons to face the empty dawn. I've memorized each line in your face, Not even death can ever erase, All the love you've given to me. Miss you, oh how I'll miss you, I'll dream of you and I'll cry a million tears. But the sorrow will pass, and the thing that will last Is the love you've given to me." Joy comes, grief goes. We know not how. In friendship, Mary Ann deVries From our home in Melaque, Mexico

I went to college with Pam at Iowa Lakes and I remember the conversations that we had about how perfect my hometown of Atlantic, Iowa was in that it was almost center between Omaha/Council Bluffs and Des Moines. Rural living with access to the big city life if chosen. How ironic that she wound up in my hometown and eventually agreed that Atlantic, Iowa was as perfect as I had argued! I remember the thought provoking conversations that I had with intelligent woman and know that the world was a better place because of her! Rest in peace friend.
