Obituary for Robin K. Kautz
Robin K. Kautz, 59, of Atlantic, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016, at his home.
The son of Paul and Fern (Petersen) Kautz, he was born April 7, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The family lived in Stanwood, Iowa, until 1967, when they moved to Atlantic. During high school he participated in track and field, and graduated from Atlantic High School in 1976. After graduation he began working for Henningsen's Construction, in the steel division, and was with them for nearly 40 years.
After being gone all week with work he looked forward to weekends with his family, but before the fun could begin the yard had to be in tip-top shape, mowed and bushes trimmed to perfection. Camping, boating, water skiing and fishing at Lake Icaria were weekend traditions; his kids have fond memories of being raised on the lake. He was an outdoorsman, an avid hunter and fisherman. Corey, Emily and Jessica have memories filled with laughter when they think of him sharing his daredevil spirit throughout their childhood. It was rare, but when Robin relaxed in front of the television he was usually watching the weather channel.
Robin is survived by his children, Corey, Emily and Jessica Kautz; sisters, Paulette Kautz-Cummings, Kim (Tim) Rourick and Ty (David) Ford; nieces and nephew, Brianne, Erin, Chloe, and Sam; extended family; and his Henningsen's family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 2nd at Roland Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3rd at Roland Funeral Home, with Pastor Leon Hodges officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.
