Obituary for Phyllis Jean Ehle (Kay)

Phyllis Jean  Ehle (Kay)
Phyllis J. Ehle, 72, of Lyman, Iowa, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.

Phyllis was born on July 20, 1941, the daughter of Clifford and Rozell Marilla (Petersen) Kay in Atlantic, Iowa. In 1959 she graduated from Atlantic High School.

On March 20, 1976, she was united in marriage to Gary Ehle at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Phyllis and Gary lived in Atlantic until 1979, when they moved to Lyman. She worked at J.C. Penney, Hawkeye Electric, Payless Shoe Source, Lyman Produce, and was a housekeeper at Heritage House for over 20 years.

She enjoyed sporting events, including Hawkeye Football, and especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren. Phyllis enjoyed time with friends and looked forward to her dinners out with them. Family was a huge part of her life and she took great pride in her grandchildren.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Gary of Lyman; son, Rod (Ruth) Christensen of Atlantic, Iowa, their children, Misty (Brian) Kepner and son, Royce of Castana, Iowa, Seth Christensen of Lawrence, Kansas, and Chad Christensen of Atlantic, Iowa; son, Jeff (Shelly) Christensen of Atlantic, Iowa, and children, Dylan and Tyler Christensen of Atlantic, Iowa; stepson, David (Lindy) Ehle of Belle Plaine, Iowa; sister, Janice Peterson of Atlantic, Iowa; sister-in-law, Karen (Ray) Underwood of Lyman, Iowa; brother-in-law, Kent (Teresa) Ehle of Atlantic, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Rozell Kay; niece, Tamara Jo Hetrick; nephew, Doug Younger; and brother-in-law, Daryll Peterson.
