LESLIE “LUCKY” OSBORN

Lucky Osborn, of Wiota, Iowa (formerly of Atlantic, IA) passed away at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA on Friday, January 24, 2014.

Lucky was born on October 28, 1943 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Lawrence and Myra Ada (Miexner) Osborn. He briefly lived in West Liberty as a child before his family moved to Atlantic. He was married to Joyce Juhler in 1962. Lucky was married to Linda (Hansen) Osborn, in their home, on December 31st 1994. He worked as a truck driver for most of his professional life - most recently for Mueller and Sons.

Lucky was a proud member of the Eagle’s Club for many years. Music was a large part of Lucky’s life, and he was part of several bands in which he played bass guitar and sang. Some of these include: The Blue Tones, Living Country, Whisky River and Break Away. He was also interested in bowling, golf and riding motorcycles in his younger years. Lucky was a “jokester” who enjoyed people and folks enjoyed talking with him. He never knew a stranger and he had friends “everywhere.”

Lucky is survived by his wife Linda; and son D.J. Osborn of Atlantic, IA; a son and daughter from his first marriage, Todd (Rhonda) Osborn of Dallas Center and their children Ashley, Ryan, and Sara Osborn, one daughter Marcey (Barry) Fickbohm of Manhattan, KS and their children Jocelynn (Chris) Fitch and Ethan Fickbohm; a sister Florence (Lawrence) Bishop of Tingely, IA; and also a number of nieces and nephews; and several grand nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Johnny and Walter; two sisters Mary Kruger and Angeline Gaunt; and one grandson Joseph Allen Osborn.
