Ruby Naomi Olsen

Ruby Olsen, of Exira, IA and Atlantic, IA, passed away at the age of 85 on Sunday evening, March 18, 2012, at the Exira Care Center.
Ruby Naomi was born to Chris Fredrick and Rosa Dora Diest Mack in Audubon County on July 31, 1926. She attended country school in the county of Audubon then attended Audubon High School. On February 21, 1946, Ruby was united in marriage to John Lincoln Olsen at the Ross Calvary Church north of Audubon. Following marriage, they farmed 6 miles east of Exira, in Audubon County, and were caretakers of Little Field Park until moving to Atlantic in 1976. They ran laundromats in Atlantic until the mid '80's when they retired because of health reasons.
She is survived by her children; Gary Olsen and wife, Luann, of Exira, Bradley Olsen and special friend, Mary Bracsfield, of Firth, NE, and Marsha Hansen of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Charity Olsen (Doug Foster) of Council Bluffs, IA, Tina Olsen (Marty Juelsgaard), Brenda Olsen (Rick Christensen) all of Audubon, IA, Tabitha Olsen of Exira, IA, Alicia (Brian) Stortz of Meadow Grove, NE, Adam (Tina) Hansen of Lincoln, NE, Josef Hansen (Pamela Brown) of Topeka, KS, Eli Olsen and sister, Emily Olsen, both of Hickman, NE; great grandchildren, Derek, Megan and Allison Foster of Council Bluffs, IA, Kyle, Kalee and Karsen Juelsgaard of Audubon, IA, Gracie Olsen of Exira, IA, Madilynn and Jackson Stortz of Meadow Grove, NE, Gabrielle and Spencer Hansen of Lincoln, NE, Carrie Terpsma of Lincoln, NE, LeLand and Isabelle Brown of Topeka, KS; sisters-in-law, Ruth Tibben and Ethel Mack, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents, Chris and Rosa; two sisters and one brother.
There will be open visitation at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic from 8:00 am to 5:30 on Tuesday and to 5:00 on Wednesday. The family will be at the funeral home for a visitation on Wednesday evening, March 21, from 5:00 to 7:00. Services for Ruby will be held on Thursday, March 22, at 10:30 am, at the Exira Lutheran Church with Pastor Steven Frock officiating. Interment will be in the Exira Cemetery.
